The Defiant Race Supplies Intercooler Water Spray Kit is a complete, boost-activated cooling system designed for turbocharged race and high-performance vehicles.

During hard track use, repeated acceleration and high boost generate significant heat through the charge-air system. As intercooler temperatures rise, cooling efficiency decreases and intake-air temperatures can increase, particularly during longer sessions and between closely spaced laps.

The Defiant system sprays a fine atomised water mist directly across the external face of the intercooler. Evaporation and airflow help remove heat from the intercooler core, assisting it in controlling charge-air temperatures during demanding use.

Unlike water/methanol injection, nothing is injected into the engine or intake tract. The system simply provides additional external cooling to the intercooler.

Automatic boost-activated operation

At the heart of the system is an adjustable pressure-switch controller. Once the preset boost pressure is reached, the system automatically activates the high-flow 12V pump and three intercooler misting nozzles.

This means the system can remain inactive during normal driving and automatically provide additional cooling when the engine is under significant load.

The activation point can be configured to suit the vehicle and application.

The system has been developed primarily with circuit racing, time attack, drag racing and other high-performance turbocharged applications in mind.

It is particularly useful where a car experiences increasing intake temperatures over consecutive laps or where limited airflow, packaging constraints or high ambient temperatures make intercooler heat soak a concern.

With a large 6.5-litre reservoir, three-nozzle arrangement and 5 metres of main water line, the kit also provides flexibility for different intercooler sizes and vehicle layouts.
